We are delighted to have Bournville BookFest 2020 at Woodbrooke house and organic gardens - the family home of George Cadbury. The Cadbury brothers were passionate about education, spending their Sunday mornings teaching adults to read and write - and we think they would have been great BookFest supporters!

Our beautiful Festival Marquee will be in the grounds, and will make full use of the Victorian walled garden and orchard for Story Walks. Inside, there will be events in the Cadbury Room, Quiet Room, Rendel Harris Room and Art Room.

There is no car parking at Woodbrooke and we encourage everyone to come on foot or by bike.

There is a lake in the grounds so parents are asked to keep a close eye on small children between events.

The cafe - which uses organic produce grown in the gardens - will be open for snacks and refreshments. Contactless payments are preferred. Woodbrooke has high eco credentials, specialises in vegetarian cooking and uses compostible cutlery and cups.

Accessibility

Bournville BookFest tries to ensure accessibility for all.

Woodbrooke House itself is partially wheelchair-friendly, with disabled toilets on a level but not automatic doors.

But due to the historic terrain and conservation needs of Woodbrooke, some outdoor spaces may prove difficult depending on weather close the event.

If you are a Blue Badge holder and would like to book one of the two disabled car park bays, please contact [email protected] with details of the event you have tickets for.

If you use a wheelchair please do get in touch in advance so we can make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Assistance Dogs are welcome, but we can't admit pets to the grounds, where we're keen to keep disruption to wildlife to a minimum.
